I have found truth to be elusive in the Mormon Church. It changes, becomes something different from one generation to the next. Whimsies of past and present Mormon presidents have described truth as one thing, and then, it seems to become something else later. The Mormon Church says God is speaking. But how do we know?
Websters describes "truth" in this way:
- Conformity to fact or actuality.
- A statement proven to be or accepted as true.
- Sincerity; integrity.
- Fidelity to an original or standard - (In this case let's hope to God's Word)

- Reality; actuality.
- often Truth That which is considered to be the supreme reality and to have the ultimate meaning and value of existence.
If truth is to be known, it cannot change. Truth must be contant. It must be final. Truth must be absolute. Truth must have a standard. That standard in faith is the Word of God. The Holy Bible.
So what is true to Mormons? Mormons must undestand that the truth can only set you free if you know what it is. The ever-changing doctrines of the Mormon Church make certain of one thing. The Mormon Church cannot find truth within itself without a "fidelity to the original Word of God."
