Church of the Week & Mentoring Program

We have been so blessed here at Life After Ministries with all the phone calls from ex-Mormons seeking help in their exodus process that it seems each week we are implementing a new idea or resource for those seeking a little guidance!

One of the things that can be overwhelming for the Mormon when they decide to leave is what’s next, what do I do now?

What kind of church, where is the church, what are the rules, etc. are just a few of the questions that go through the mind of an ex-Mormon.  We’d like to be able to help them in their new life by providing a reliable and safe place for them to find truth and integrity.  Ideally, we’d like to have at least two or three churches from each town throughout North America for the ex-Mormon or Mormon to choose from!  The Bible says that we don’t receive because we haven’t asked and believed so I’m asking Father God to supply us with this list for the Mormon people while being confident He will provide!

The list of questions and doubts are endless for those in Mormonism and those who are thinking about leaving.  The idea here is to highlight or showcase a church in “Anytown”, USA.  We’ll keep the complete list of churches available for viewing on the website and every 7-10 days we’ll be posting a new church.  If your church is interested in being a reliable resource for a seeking Mormon to find salvation, e-mail us with the info!

We’ll need the church website, address, contact info, pastor’s name, service times and programs or ministries available at your church.  Don’t forget to include an interesting or cool tidbit about your church that we’ll want to know about!

In addition to the highlighting of churches also prayerfully consider being a mentor for the ex-Mormon when they leave the LDS Church.  It is usually overwhelming, confusing and lonely when having to go through this and having a strong Christian to contact is always reassuring to them!

Our mentoring handbook is a compilation of thirty doctrines in the LDS Church that pertain to theology and heritage.  It gives ideas on how to approach studying with the ex-Mormon and sorts out the truth from the lies using the Bible and dictionaries to address the vocabulary barrier that impedes the truth from being told.  Other topics range from the nature and character of God, Jesus, the HS, and assurance of salvation, prayer, word studies and more!

You can purchase our mentoring handbook from our online bookstore for $10 which covers the cost of printing and binding.

If you’re interested in either of these programs or both, let us know so we can put you into action!  We have mentors scattered through the US and would love to have more including outside the boundaries of America!

For further information call or write us!

With Love in Christ;

Reunion Church

My name is Joe Miller.  I am the Lead Elder for Reunion Church in Orting.  If you are on the path of leaving the Mormon faith, then let me share with you a few reasons why Reunion would be a great step in the right direction.

1. We are not anti-Mormon, we are pro-Jesus.  That means our focus is not on teaching about the false doctrines of Mormon faith, we are focused on teaching the truth of Jesus as revealed in the New Testament.

2. While we reject the Mormon gospel, we respect the individuals who are drawn to the Mormon value for family.  We structure our weekly service so family can worship together.  We structure our ministries so that parents remain the primary disciple-makers for their kids.  Leaving your Mormon roots, does not mean leaving your love for family and at Reunion we will help that love grow.

3. Just because you have decided to leave the Mormon faith does not mean that you can leave behind your life.  You have memories, joys, fears, and hopes that can not be tossed out.  There is still a long journey ahead and you will need support, course corrections, and encouragement along the way.  Reunion is a family gathering that will be there for you.

Finally, let me say that so much of who we are and who we hope to become is summarized in our name, Reunion.  More than 2000 years ago, Jesus told a story about a broken family whose past was marked by anger, pain, and guilt. Yet in the midst of desperation, Jesus painted a picture of hope. He told a story of how a Father’s love offered freedom in the midst of a young son’s shame and gave the hope of peace when no one expected anything but chaos. The name Reunion reflects the heart of this father’s cry recorded in Luke 15:24 “…This son of mine was dead, but now has again come to life— he was lost, but now is found!’ And they began to rejoice!”” Reunion is a place where individuals can find freedom and hope in the midst of pain. Reunion is the vision of the Heavenly Father who wants us to throw a party for every new family member who comes home to Him. Will you come and join the Orting Reunion?

GracePoint Community Church is affiliated with the Evangelical Presbyterian denomination. We are a conservative church and believe the Bible to be the inerrant word of God in all matters. We believe in the Trinitarian relationship of Father, Son and Holy Ghost - three persons in One God, each distinct in purpose but one being. We believe that baptism is an outward demonstration or public witness of one's belief in Jesus Christ as the living sacrifice for the atonement of all sins and an individual's commitment to follow Him.

Pastor Fred Lian is a dynamic expository teacher.  He has been ministering to GracePoint (formerly Trinity Presbyterian) for 20 years. We praise God for this because he and his family are a huge blessing to all of us. Communion is administered the first Sunday of every month.

We are a smaller, family oriented church and visitors will immediately feel at home. Average Sunday worship attendance is about 125.

Every summer we run a VBS program which the past few years have been done in the manner of back yard Bible clubs to better reach our communities. All children's ministry workers are fingerprinted and background checked for the safety of our children.

Members of GracePoint come from many communities including Thornton, Littleton, Englewood, Lakewood, Highlands Ranch, Aurora and Bailey, Colorado. People who move away just keep coming back because we are family!

Our worship is led by a wonderful praise band, directed by Michael Vahle. We open with a traditional hymn accompanied by organ or piano, then sing a few praise songs from the heart. We truly make a joyful noise to the Lord! Another hymn is sung at the close of the service. Since losing our music director a few years ago, we've been without a choral choir. We have a wonderful bell choir that plays fairly often during offertory or for special occasions such as Easter or Christmas.

They truly know how to make others feel welcome and draw them right into the "family." We also have a faithful and precious prayer ministry at GracePoint.

Our church is a member of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches in Winona Lake, IN.  We view ourselves as a fellowship and not a denomination, with each local church governing its own affairs locally.  We have a very non-denominational attitude within our congregation, with our motto being; "THE BIBLE, THE WHOLE BIBLE AND NOTHING BUT THE BIBLE."

We are a small but growing church located in S.W. Ohio in rural Preble County. Our area serves as a "bedroom community "to Dayton, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Middletown, OH and Richmond, IN.

Pastor Sorrell and his wife Marti have ministered at GBCC since July of 2005 when he first came as interim pastor.  The church has sustained steady growth since then and has added many ministries during that time.  They have lived in the area since January of 1990 and served in various positions throughout their church lives.  Marti's father was an ordained minister and her brother served in the pastorate for many years.

Pastor Sorrell was saved in 1985 after 6.5 yrs. in Mormonism.  During that time he filled many different positions within the LDS church including that of an ordained elder and full-time missionary.  Pastor Sorrell surrendered to full-time Christian ministry in 1986 and was ordained to preach the gospel in 2001 after coming to the Dayton, OH area to pastor his first church. He has a heartfelt desire to reach those in Mormonism with the "real Gospel and the real Jesus", but also desires to see all people come to salvation and grow in maturity in there faith.

"We believe God has called us to be authentic and real in our faith and to be salt and light in a lost and dying world. John 3:16 says "God so loved that he gave..." The way that He gives is through His people, the body of Christ. We as a church are striving to be His hands and His feet, His eyes and His ears in the world and to love those whom God gives us as He would have us to. If you’re looking for a place to find hope and purpose, if you're hurting and need healing, if you're confused and need answers, we are here to help."

If you have a need please feel free to contact us at any time.

We look forward to being of service to you.
